Fun fusion bringing burger night with a bold twist. Juicy seasoned beef smashed into tortillas with gooey cheese, grilled to golden perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • Optional: pickles, diced onions, burger sauce, ketchup, mustard

Instructions

  1. Heat large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Take small handful of ground beef (3-4 ounces) and press directly onto one half of flour tortilla, spreading thin.
  3. Season exposed beef generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Place tortilla beef-side down in hot skillet. Press firmly with spatula for 30 seconds. Cook without moving for 2-3 minutes until deeply browned and crispy.
  5. Flip entire tortilla so beef side faces up.
  6. Sprinkle ¼ cup shredded cheese over cooked beef.
  7. Fold empty half of tortilla over beef and cheese side, creating half-moon shape. Press gently.
  8. Cook 1-2 minutes, flipping once, until both sides are golden and crispy and cheese is melted.
  9. Let rest 1 minute before slicing into wedges. Serve with favorite burger toppings.
  10. Repeat with remaining tortillas and beef.

Notes

  • Use 80/20 ground beef for juiciest results.
  • Press beef thin for authentic smashburger texture.
  • Don’t move beef while first side cooks – creates crispy crust.
  • American cheese melts smoothest for classic burger flavor.
