Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup honey (80g)
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (such as Frank’s or Cholula)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or chili flakes, adjust for taste preference)
  • 2 store-bought garlic naan or flatbreads (about 68 inches each)
  • 1/2 cup tomato-based pizza sauce (130g, add more if desired)
  • 2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella (180g, use more if needed)
  • 12 slices pepperoni (or as preferred)
  • Sliced black olives and fresh jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 430°F (221°C). Place the oven tray inside to ensure it gets nice and hot for crisping the pizza base.
  2. In a small bowl, combine honey, hot sauce, and red pepper flakes. Warm this mixture in the microwave for about 10-20 seconds until slightly heated, then stir well. Let the hot honey mixture cool for 2-3 minutes before using – it should be warm but not hot enough to burn.
  3. Spread a generous layer of pizza sauce over your flatbreads.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly, leaving a 1/2-inch border around edges for crust.
  5. Evenly layer pepperoni, jalapeños, and olives on top of the sauce. To prevent pepperoni from curling, place a few extra pieces of mozzarella cheese over them.
  6. Carefully remove the hot tray from the oven using oven mitts and place your assembled pizzas on it. Use oven mitts when handling the hot tray – it will be extremely hot. Return the tray to the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly charred and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  7. Once the pizzas are done baking, drizzle with your preferred amount of the prepared hot honey. Serve the pizzas hot and enjoy.

Notes

  • Pre-bake flatbread for 2-3 minutes before adding toppings to prevent soggy crust.
  • Don’t drizzle hot honey before baking as it can burn and become bitter.
  • Use mild-flavored honey like clover or wildflower for best results.
  • Each flatbread serves 2-3 people as a main dish or 4-6 as an appetizer.
