A creative twist combining cooked spaghetti in rich garlic butter sauce, topped with melted cheese and baked until golden. Perfect comfort food side dish or main course.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 46 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and return to pot.
  3. While spaghetti cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
  4. Remove garlic butter from heat and stir in chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Pour garlic butter sauce over cooked spaghetti and toss until every strand is well coated.
  6. Transfer half of the spaghetti to prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle with half of the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Add remaining spaghetti on top, followed by remaining cheeses.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and slightly golden brown on top.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the spaghetti initially as it continues to cook in the oven. Al dente is key for best texture.
  • For extra crispy top, turn on broiler for last 1-2 minutes of baking. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  • Add red pepper flakes to the butter for a little heat if desired.
  • Use fresh garlic and fresh parsley for the best flavor.
