Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter, divided
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pound chicken to 1-inch thickness for even cooking.
  2. In one bowl, place flour. In another, combine Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour, then press into Parmesan mixture to coat.
  4. Melt 1/4 cup butter in skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken 6-8 minutes per side until golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. In same skillet, melt remaining butter. Sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Add heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Stir and simmer until slightly thickened.
  7. Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over top, and simmer 1 minute.
  8. Plate and drizzle with extra sauce to serve.

Notes

  • For the crispiest crust, use freshly grated Parmesan.
  • To switch things up, try adding sautéed spinach or mushrooms to the garlic sauce.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F for food safety.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan when cooking chicken – cook in batches if necessary.
