100g malted milk OR digestive biscuits (broken up)
75g mini marshmallows (gelatine free if serving to vegetarians)
200g Maltesers
75g Malteser Teasers or Maltesers Buttons (optional)
35g Maltesers (for decoration)
Instructions
Line an 8-inch square tin with baking paper. Grease the tin first with butter to help paper stick.
Put butter, golden syrup, dark chocolate and milk chocolate in a large saucepan. Melt on low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine broken biscuits, marshmallows, Maltesers, and Malteser Teasers.
Pour two-thirds of cooled chocolate mixture into bowl of dry ingredients. Stir thoroughly to coat everything with chocolate.
Pour entire mixture into lined tin and smooth top. Add remaining chocolate mixture to fill gaps. Tap tin on work surface to settle and remove air bubbles.
Top with remaining Maltesers, cutting some in half with knife for visual appeal.
Refrigerate overnight or 3-4 hours until completely set. Remove from tin and slice into squares.
Notes
Use any combination of dark or milk chocolate totaling 450g for different flavor profiles.
Check marshmallow ingredients if serving to vegetarians – many contain beef or pork gelatine.
For 9-inch square tin, increase all ingredients by 25% to maintain proper thickness.
