This Jalapeño Popper Pizza is made with store-bought pizza dough, a cream cheese base, lots of cheese, and topped with spicy jalapeños. High protein and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ball of pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, sliced and seeds removed
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1½ cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded or sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Lightly coat a pizza pan or baking sheet with olive oil.
  2. Work the pizza dough with your hands to form a pizza about 10 inches in diameter. Transfer to pan lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a small bowl mix together softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture over pizza dough evenly. Leave about ¾-1 inch of a border.
  5. Add mozzarella cheese slices, then sprinkle shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
  6. Top with jalapeño slices evenly distributed.
  7. Place in oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Top with chives if desired. Let cool for a few minutes, then slice and enjoy.

Notes

  • Make sure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy spreading. Fresh jalapeños work best compared to canned.
  • Remove jalapeño seeds for mild heat, leave seeds for medium to hot heat. Shred cheese yourself for best melting results.
