A refreshing morning detox drink with Himalayan pink salt, lemon, and honey that supports hydration and wellness goals. Easy 5-minute recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 glass warm water (not hot, around 100-110°F)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (about half a small lemon)
  • 1 teaspoon honey, optional for sweetness
  • A few fresh mint leaves, optional for flavor

Instructions

  1. Heat water to a warm but not hot temperature, around 100-110°F. The water should feel comfortable to drink immediately.
  2. Add Himalayan pink salt to the glass of warm water. Stir continuously for 15-20 seconds until salt crystals completely dissolve.
  3. Squeeze fresh lemon juice directly into the glass and stir well for another 10 seconds until water takes on a pale golden color.
  4. If using honey, add it now and stir until fully dissolved, about 15-20 seconds. Stir thoroughly as honey will sink initially.
  5. Add mint leaves if desired, gently crushing them between fingers first to release oils and aroma.
  6. Drink this mixture first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Sip slowly over 5-10 minutes. Wait at least 15-20 minutes before eating breakfast.

Notes

  • Use authentic Himalayan pink salt from the Himalayan region for best mineral content. Regular table salt will not provide the same benefits.
  • Never use boiling water as temperatures above 120°F can reduce beneficial properties of raw honey.
  • Best prepared fresh each morning rather than made ahead. Lemon juice loses vitamin C potency after 2-3 hours.
  • Stick to one glass per day. More is not better with salt consumption.
