Quick one-pot Ground Beef Orzo with tender pasta, savory beef, and creamy Parmesan. Ready in 30 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet with lid, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  2. Add ground beef, breaking apart as it cooks for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in broth and add orzo. Bring to boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
  5. Simmer covered for 10-12 minutes until orzo is tender, stirring halfway through.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan until melted and creamy.
  7. Serve hot with extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best melting and creaminess.
  • Cooking orzo in broth instead of water enhances flavor significantly.
  • Don’t overcook the orzo – it should be al dente.
