These Greek Chicken Tenders are marinated in a flavorful blend of lemon, garlic, oregano, and dill, then baked or grilled to perfection. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with Mediterranean flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken tenders (about 810 tenders)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice (from 12 lemons)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, dill, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Add chicken tenders to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours. Flip chicken halfway through marinating.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or grill to medium-high heat.
  4. If baking: Arrange chicken tenders on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing 1 inch apart. Bake for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway through, until internal temperature reaches 165°F and edges are golden.
  5. If grilling: Place chicken tenders on the grill and cook for 6-8 minutes per side, until internal temperature reaches 165°F and grill marks appear.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese if using. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • The longer you marinate the chicken (up to 4 hours), the more flavorful it will be. Don’t skip the lemon juice as it helps tenderize the chicken and adds essential bright flavor.
  • For extra crispy tenders, add a light coating of panko breadcrumbs before cooking. If using whole chicken breasts, cut them into 1-inch wide strips and add 2-3 minutes to cooking time.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F internal temperature. Avoid overcooking to keep tenders juicy and tender. Greek oregano provides more authentic flavor than regular oregano.
