Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for butter)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Sesame seeds for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with diced onion until beef is browned and onion is softened, 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat very well.
  3. Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder to the beef. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Place triangles on prepared baking sheet.
  5. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of beef mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Starting at the wide end, roll up each triangle, tucking in the sides to seal in the filling. Place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  7. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley. Brush generously over each rollup. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  9. Let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. Serve with ketchup, mustard, and your favorite burger toppings.

Notes

  • Can use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef – add olive oil when cooking to prevent dryness.
  • Work quickly with crescent dough to prevent it from getting too warm and sticky.
  • Seal edges well to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
  • Can freeze unbaked rollups for up to 2 months – bake from frozen, adding 5 extra minutes.
