Quick and easy cheesy appetizer made with Pillsbury biscuits. Beginner-friendly recipe with gooey mozzarella center.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) Pillsbury Grands! Southern Homestyle Buttermilk Biscuits (8 biscuits)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, cubed or shredded
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the biscuits and flatten each one with your hands into a 4-inch circle.
  3. Place 1 generous tablespoon of mozzarella cheese (about 2-3 cubes or ¼ cup shredded) in the center of each biscuit.
  4. Gather the edges of the dough and pinch firmly to seal the cheese inside, forming a smooth ball. Roll gently between palms.
  5. Place the sealed biscuits seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and garlic powder until combined.
  7. Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over the tops of each biscuit.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown with no pale dough visible.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool 2-3 minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use Pillsbury Grands Southern Homestyle Buttermilk Biscuits, not flaky layers variety. They seal better and hold cheese without leaking.
  • Pinch dough tightly at seams to prevent cheese from escaping during baking. Place seam-side down for best results.
  • Let cool 2-3 minutes before eating – cheese will be extremely hot inside.
  • Substitute cheddar, pepper jack, or Mexican cheese blend for different flavors. Cube harder cheeses for even melting.
