Fun and delicious twist on classic pizza flavors. Perfect for weeknight dinner, game day, or lunchbox treats with customizable toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup pepperoni, chopped
  • 1 (13.8 oz) can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook ground beef or Italian sausage in large skillet over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Unroll pizza dough onto lightly floured surface. Use rolling pin to shape into 12×9 inch rectangle if needed.
  5. Spread cooled meat mixture evenly over dough, leaving ½ inch border around edges.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and chopped pepperoni over meat mixture. Press down gently.
  7. Starting from long side, carefully roll dough into tight log like a jelly roll.
  8. Using sharp knife, slice log into 1-inch thick rounds. You should get 10-12 roll ups.
  9. Place slices cut-side up on prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
  10. Brush tops of roll ups with olive oil.
  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes until dough is golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Let cool for 3-4 minutes. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Let meat mixture cool for 5 minutes before spreading on dough to prevent sogginess. Don’t overfill or roll ups may fall apart.
  • Use pizza cutter or unflavored dental floss for clean, even slices. Sprinkle cornmeal on parchment for crispier bottom.
  • Customize with mushrooms, bell peppers, or onions. Can be assembled 24 hours ahead and refrigerated before baking.
