Creamy, cheesy family-friendly dinner with tender chicken, pasta, and bacon baked until bubbly. Perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken (shredded)
  • 2 cups egg noodles (uncooked)
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 6 slices)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In large pot of salted boiling water, cook egg noodles until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In large bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Stir cooked noodles, shredded chicken, half of cheddar cheese, and half of bacon into sauce mixture. Mix until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish and sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese and bacon evenly on top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving and garnish with green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Cooked rotisserie chicken works great for convenience. Cook noodles just al dente as they will continue cooking in oven.
  • Can assemble ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking. Add 10 minutes to cook time if baking from cold.
