Cottage Cheese Bagels (Air fry or Oven)

Chewy, golden, and protein-packed bagels made with cottage cheese. Just 4 ingredients and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cottage cheese, blended until smooth
  • ½ egg, beaten (or 1 egg white)
  • Optional: sesame seeds, everything but the bagel seasoning, or poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Blend cottage cheese in a food processor until smooth.
  3. Add blended cottage cheese to dry ingredients. Mix with a fork, then knead into smooth dough.
  4. Divide into 4 pieces, shape each into a bagel. Dust with flour if sticky.
  5. Brush with beaten egg. Add toppings if desired.
  6. Air fry at 300°F (150°C) for 13 minutes until golden. (Or oven to 375°F)
  7. Let cool slightly. Serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Dough too sticky? Add more flour when shaping.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temp for 2 days or refrigerate for 5.
  • Freeze up to 3 months. Reheat in air fryer at 280°F for 3–4 minutes.
