All the flavors of a classic club sandwich transformed into a hearty pasta salad. Loaded with chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, and fresh veggies in creamy tangy dressing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb rotini or penne pasta
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, diced
  • 1 lb bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled
  • 4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 red onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, then rinse with cold water to cool completely. Let drain thoroughly.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until smooth.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooled pasta, diced chicken, crumbled bacon, chopped romaine lettuce, halved cherry tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced red onion.
  4. Pour creamy dressing over pasta mixture. Gently toss until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Serve chilled. Toss before serving and add more dressing if needed.

Notes

  • Rinsing pasta with cold water prevents gummy texture and cools it quickly for a proper cold salad.
  • Add romaine lettuce just before serving to prevent sogginess if making ahead.
  • Use rotisserie chicken for faster prep time.
  • Thick-cut bacon provides better texture and flavor.
