The ultimate appetizer or snack made with flaky puff pastry, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni. Perfect for parties or quick dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the pastry, leaving a ½-inch border.
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni over the sauce.
  5. Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll the pastry into a log.
  6. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the log into 1-inch thick rounds.
  7. Place the roll-ups cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk the egg. Brush the tops of the roll-ups with the egg wash. If using, sprinkle with Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure to thaw the puff pastry completely but keep it cold for best results. If it gets too warm, refrigerate for 5 minutes.
  • Feel free to add other toppings like cooked sausage, mushrooms, or olives. Don’t overload or they won’t hold together.
  • For a crispier bottom, place the baking sheet on a preheated pizza stone.
  • You can prepare the roll-ups ahead of time and refrigerate them before baking.
