4 chicken breasts, equal in size (about 6–8 oz each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons dried thyme or Italian Seasoning
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Cooking spray (for air fryer basket)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 teaspoons dried thyme, 2 teaspoons onion powder, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon paprika. Mix everything together until well combined.
Pat the chicken breasts completely dry with paper towels to help the spice rub stick. Brush the seasoning mixture onto both sides of each chicken breast, coating evenly.
Preheat the air fryer at 375°F for 5 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray.
Add chicken in a single layer with space between pieces and cook for 10 minutes.
Flip the chicken breasts and cook for an additional 10 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F when checked with a meat thermometer.
Transfer chicken to a cutting board or plate and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This keeps the juices locked in for extra tender, juicy chicken. Slice and serve.
Notes
Pick similar-sized chicken breasts (about 6-8 oz each) so they cook evenly in the air fryer.
Preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes for best results and even cooking.
Don’t overcrowd the basket – cook chicken in a single layer with space between pieces for proper air circulation.
Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F internal temperature for food safety.
Total time includes 5 minutes preheating the air fryer.
